Senior Agile Java Developer - Information Technology

Lexington Solutions, a Boston Capital company, uses the latest Extreme Programming/Agile methodologies to develop mission-critical applications for its business. We have fostered a collaborative environment with a group of talented individuals who are all passionate about agile and building quality software. We are looking for a bright, analytical thinker to join our team to help build a state of the art asset management application that is being marketed to the real estate financing industry. We are also looking for someone who has played a leadership role in agile development teams and has experience collaboratively defining strategic technical direction of a software product.

As a Senior Agile Developer you will:

• Create complex software solutions
• Use Object Oriented languages – Java/J2EE and Ruby on Rails (Experience with Rails isn't required.)
• Work with highly analytical, experienced agile programmers
• Code in a Test Driven Development, Paired Programming environment
• Constantly learn and implement the latest Agile practices
• Use open source tools including Google Web Toolkit, Apache, Tomcat, FIT, JUnit, Webwork, PicoContainer, Hibernate, Velocity, Subversion and more
• Lead/mentor junior developers
• Interact directly with business users to gather and analyze business requirements
• Be involved in all phases of software development from design to implementation
• Drive design decisions
• Be called upon to help guide and set technical strategy
• Create quality software that truly delivers business value

We are looking for you if you have:

• 5+ years experience with Object Oriented languages (Java/J2EE, Ruby/Rails, etc.)
• Extensive knowledge of design patterns, refactoring, and continuous integration
• Knowledge of Agile Methodologies (Extreme Programming (XP), Scrum, other)
• A true passion for coding
• The desire and ability to learn new technologies quickly
• The ability to inspire others to create great code

Other qualifications include:

• Working knowledge of Extreme Programming/Agile is preferred
• Knowledge of Test Driven Development is preferred
• Software product development experience is preferred
• Ability to work in Boston
• Strong interpersonal skills
